PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

πŸ—“οΈ Registration Priority & Discounts

  • Current LSC members have priority registration until August 8, 2025 at 11:59pm.
  • Early Bird: 10% discount for current members until the same deadline.
  • Payment plans available for all registrations.

Reminder: A $59.00 Skate Canada membership and insurance fee is added to each registration.

πŸ™‹ Volunteer Bond Policy

To defer the volunteer bond fee, you must choose the payment plan option. If you pay in full at registration, the bond will be added and paid immediately.

Bonds will be held until the end of August 2026 for those using the payment plan.

⛸️ Wednesday Extra Practice Ice (All Levels)

We are exploring a 1-hour block (2:15 – 3:15pm) at Sportsplex for additional practice from September to March.

  • JUNIOR: Up to 5 bonus sessions — minimal coaching, ideal for choreography or private practice.
  • INTERMEDIATE & SENIOR: Up to 10 sessions — intended to replace ice lost to tests, simulations, or holidays.

Details and pricing will follow once confirmed.

🌟 LSC PERFORMANCE PATH: Saturday Series

This exclusive development program is for STAR 6+ Senior skaters focused on competitive excellence.

  • Must be a current Senior Freeskate competitor
  • Compete in at least 3 of the 5 Fall/Winter competitions
  • Train minimum 4 days/week (Saturday is additional)
  • Demonstrate commitment to training, growth, and competition

Eligibility: Determined by the Director of Skating based on the above criteria.

🀝 Program Assistant (PA) Training

Open to skaters age 12+ from Intermediate and Senior levels who wish to volunteer and assist with CanSkate.

Mandatory Training: Wednesday, Sept 3rd, 5:30–8:00pm at Sportsplex.

CANSKATE

Session fees cover September 8, 2025 – March 4, 2026

CanSkate: Ages 4–12. Skaters must be 4 by the session start date.

Maximum 2 sessions per week per skater.

Mon/Wed at Sportsplex, Tues at George Preston

  • Monday (23 classes): 4:15 – 5:00pm, Sept 8 – Mar 9)
  • Tuesday (23 classes): 5:45 – 6:30pm, Sept 9 – Mar 10)
  • Wednesday (23 classes): 5:45 – 6:30pm, Sept 10 – Mar 4
  • No Skating – Monday: Oct 13, Dec 22 & 29, Feb 16
  • No Skating – Tuesday: Sept 30, Nov 11, Dec 23 & 30
  • No Skating – Wednesday: Nov 12, Dec 17, 24, 31, Mar 11

Note: CSA-approved helmet required. Skaters must supply their own hockey or figure skates.

$59.00 Skate Canada membership and insurance fee applies to every registration.

TEEN/ADULT

Ages 13–Adult. Must be 13 by the session start date.

Tuesday (23 classes): 6:30 – 7:15 pm (Sept 9 – Mar 10) at George Preston

No skating – Sept 30, Nov 11, Dec 23 & 30

Beginners require a CSA-Approved Ice Helmet. Skaters must supply their own skates (hockey or figure).

JUNIOR / JUNIOR ACADEMY

This combined program section is for skaters in either Junior Academy (CanSkate graduates) or Junior STARSkate (working on STAR 1–2). All skaters must be coach-recommended.

Minimum 2 days/week required. Junior STARSkaters must include at least one group lesson (Monday or Tuesday).

Session Dates: September 5, 2025 – March 13, 2026

  • Monday (23 classes): 3:30–4:15pm on-ice, 4:30–5:00pm off-ice – Sportsplex
    Coaching fees included
    No skating – Oct 13, Dec 22 & 29, Feb 16

  • Tuesday (23 classes): 6:30–7:15pm on-ice only – George Preston
    Coaching fees included
    No skating – Sept 30, Nov 11, Dec 23 & 30

  • Wednesday (25 classes): 3:30–4:15pm on-ice, 4:30–5:00pm off-ice – Sportsplex
    Coaching fees included
    No skating – Dec 24 & 31

  • Friday (26 classes): 3:45–4:30pm on-ice only – Sportsplex
    Only for returning Junior Academy skaters – coaching not included; coaches invoice directly
    No skating – Dec 25 & Jan 2

Coaching fees are included in Monday/Tuesday group classes and Monday/Wednesday off-ice. Private lessons (Wednesday & Friday) are billed separately by coaches.

STAR SKATERS

Intermediate (Int) Level

Requirements: STAR 3–5. Coach approval required. Minimum 3 days/week.

Session Dates: Sept 2 – Mar 14, 2026

Coaching fees included in Monday/Tuesday Off-Ice and Tuesday 15-min development blocks. Other lessons billed privately.

Senior (Sr) Level

Requirements: Must have passed STAR 5 Freeskate & Skills. Coach approval required. Minimum 4 days/week (Adult/Alumni exceptions may apply).

Session Dates: Sept 2 – Mar 14, 2026

Coaching fees same as Intermediate. STAR 6+ skaters may be eligible for Saturday Performance Path by Director approval.
