Synchro Program Information |
|
Synchronized Skating has taken the world by storm. It has quickly emerged
as an innovative and dynamic sport bringing new excitement and energy to
the world of figure skating. It involves groups of skaters performing various
footwork sequences, formations and skating manoeuvres to carefully chosen music.
Much time and energy is spent off-ice by synchronized coaches to find the perfect
balance of these elements for each team. The "ENTIRE" package must be
considered by the coach in order to make the routine "fit" the team. Heads,
legs, arms and bodies must be "synchronized" and in unison.
Formations must be accurate and lines must be straight.
Over time, two distinct types of teams have emerged across Canada;
the high performance team and the equally competitive festival team.
In the West, most clubs do not have the skaters, resources or dedication to produce
high performance teams thus you will find that most teams choose the festival stream.
