Canskate Preschool

Preschoolers learn to skate in this fun and safe program with certified coaches. Our preschool program is designed to teach preschoolers through the use of games and interactive songs. This program is taught in a group environment. The minimum age requirement is 4 years old.

Canskate

This is a nationally certified "learn to skate" program for school aged children. In a group format skaters will learn the basics in going forward, backward, stopping, turning, jumping and spinning. This is an excellent beginner program that leads into figure skating, hockey, ringette or just recreational skating. This program progesses through six levels and the children are awarded with badges upon successful completion of each level.

Canfigureskate

This program is a continuation of the Canskate program using group lessons to introduce skaters to the different disciplines of figure skating. These disciplines are freeskate, stroking, dance, synchronized (team), and intepretive. This session is for recreational skaters and the fee is one price which includes the coaching fees and ice time. This is a good step between Canskate and private lessons.

Starskate

Starskate stands for: Skills, Test, Achievement, Recognition. Starskate is the program that can lead to competitive skating. This Skate Canada program offers opportunities for skaters to develop basic skating skills in four different areas: Skating Skills, Free Skating, Dance and Artistic. The costs for the Starskate program do not include lessons. The first step in becoming a starskater is to speak with a coach that you would like to book lessons with. The coach will then confirm their availability for the sessions you might be interested in. Once you have confirmed a coaches availability you register and pay for those ice times with the Langley Figure Skating Club. Ice fees are paid upon registration. Lessons fees are billed by the coach to you (usually monthly). To see coaches qualifications and backgrounds click on the 'Coach Profiles' link above.

Synchronized Skating

Synchronized skating has taken the world by storm. Since it was officially announced as the fifth figure skating discipline, alongside Men's and Ladies Singles, Pairs and Dance, it has quickly emerged as an innovative and dynamic sport bringing new excitement and energy to the world of figure skating. Synchronized skating is a team sport. Skaters must have passed their Level 6 from the Canskate program (or be of an equivalent skating level). Our synchro teams range from skaters with Canskate Level 6 to adult teams. Synchronized skating brings the dimensions of 'team' sport to figure skating.
